This series of decorative art clocks use construction methods and details found in my table lamp series. All are based on a radial design and feature a lathe turned outer ring. The outer frame is a lamination of walnut and cherry. After turning, the frame is treated with an ebonizing/antiquing mordant solution to darken the wood. These clocks have a parquetry dial face with an outer "minute ring" made of dark and light woods. Eithemaple burl or wenge are used for the outer rings of the dial face. All clocks use a Seiko quartz movement. A battery is included. Move your cursor over one of the thumbnail images to left for an enlarged image. Click the thumbnail for more information. |
